We LOVE our new birthing kit instructions!

The new sheet is in tok pisin with few words and larger, culturally relevant images and was a collaboration between our team in Manus and longtime WPNG supporter and former nurse, Sue Spencer.

Sue, who was born in Manus, engaged the fantastic team at @lassocreative who worked their magic.

Left to right: Sarah O’Bryan, Sue Spencer, Brooke Ashcroft

Thank you our susas (sisters). Your support is helping to keep Manus women safe during delivery. 🙏🏽❤️💪🏼 🎊🙏🏽

300 birthing kits were recently received in Manus, ensuring 300 more babies will now be born with reduced risk of infection to mother and child.
A huge thank you to @Rotary Club of Turramurra and Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia @bkfa.au .

Spend time in communities and you’ll understand how adaptable and resilient they truly are.

You’ll see teams of youths and older men on build projects combining western and traditional skills with ease, when

…new teachers arrive and need housing…
…king tides mean homes need to be rebuilt…
…a school needs a library…
…a new LLG administrative centre is needed.

While the men build, women prepare food to sustain the teams. Bung wantaim!
